How to Connect Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to Wi-Fi

Open Wi-Fi Networks

Open Wi-Fi networks do not require a password to connect. To connect to an open Wi-Fi network:

1. On your device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Turn on Wi-Fi.
3. Your device will automatically scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
4. Select the network you want to connect to.

Secure Wi-Fi Networks

Secure Wi-Fi networks require a password to connect. To connect to a secure Wi-Fi network:

1. On your device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Turn on Wi-Fi.
3. Your device will automatically scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
4. Select the network you want to connect to.
5. Enter the password for the network.
6. Tap Join.

Public Wi-Fi Networks

Public Wi-Fi networks are available in many public places, such as coffee shops, libraries, and airports. Public Wi-Fi networks can be either open or secure. To connect to a public Wi-Fi network:

1. On your device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Turn on Wi-Fi.
3. Your device will automatically scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
4. Select the network you want to connect to.
5. If the network is open, you will be connected automatically. If the network is secure, you will need to enter the password for the network.
6. Tap Join.

Tips

• If you are having trouble connecting to a Wi-Fi network, try restarting your device.
• If you are still having trouble connecting, contact your network administrator.
